Molly Burnett, a former cast member of Days of our Lives, is leaving her position as Detective Grace Muncy on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
In the second episode of the series’ 24th season, Burnett made his first appearance after joining the criminal drama in July 2022. She won’t be a series regular anymore.
Muncy reportedly accepted a new job off-screen during the two-hour SVU/Organized Crime crossover episode that aired last night.
Another soap opera alum, Kelli Giddish (formerly Diana, All My Children), also left the “Law & Order” franchise just before this casting exit. Episode 9 of Season 24 served as her last one as a regular on the show. Giddish, who once again played Amanda Rollins in Friday night’s crossover season finale, revealed her pregnancy in the process.
Wolf Entertainment tweeted an extended and extremely moving rendition of Muncy and Velasco’s farewell on Friday. Burnett’s series leaving was first revealed by TV Line.
