Khaseen Morris Obituary News: Tyler Flach sentenced for fatal stabbing of Khaseen Morris outside LI strip mall.
A judge in Nassau County denied Tyler Flach’s defense team’s request to throw out his second-degree murder conviction or change it to manslaughter. Instead, the judge gave the Lido Beach resident the maximum sentence of 25 years to life in prison for stabbing Khaseen Morris to death in 2019.
Flach, who was 22 at the time, was found guilty on Nov. 1 of second-degree murder and other charges in the death of Morris, who was stabbed in the heart during the fight outside an Oceanside strip mall.
Edward Sapone, who used to be Flach’s lawyer, said that even though Flach was holding a knife when he hit Morris, he didn’t mean to stab the 16-year-old.
Flach’s defense was that he was punching Khaseen Morris with the knife and accidentally stabbed him in the heart. A motion from the defense to lower the charge from murder to manslaughter was turned down.
The prosecution said Khaseen Morris’s future was ruined.
