Texas After Prom Shooting; Four Victim Count Raise To 11 As Four Of People Of Interest Identified
Four individuals have been identified as persons of interest in the shooting incident that occurred during an after-prom party in Texas over the weekend. The investigation was conducted by law enforcement officials. The shooting resulted in injuries to 11 teenagers.
According to officials, a shooting occurred on Sunday at a residence located just north of Jasper, which is approximately 130 miles northeast of Houston. The victims, who were between the ages of 15 and 19, were reportedly struck by gunfire.
During a press conference on Tuesday, Jasper County Sheriff Mitchel Newman stated that two more victims of the shooting had gone to the hospital the day after the incident. Initially, the sheriff’s office had reported nine people injured.
According to the Jasper County District Attorney’s Office, three of the victims are still hospitalized, while eight are recuperating at home.
According to Newman, the names of the injured are not being released by his office because of the ongoing investigation. The type of weapon used and the number of shooters involved have not been released by authorities.
The After Prom Shooting Case Explained
The Officials made a clear report that, the gunfire erupted at an after-party attended by over 250 individuals following the Jasper High School prom, occurring just after midnight.
District Attorney Anne Pickle stated that, the shooting was an act of justice that was both senseless and intolerant. Investigators from multiple agencies have been working tirelessly to identify suspects in the case.
She stated that, “What should have been a very special evening turned into a tragic event that will unfortunately be remembered for all the wrong reasons,”

Newman stated in a press briefing on Tuesday that, a motive remained unclear.
“I don’t know if you can find a motive where you would go shoot 11 innocent children, but we’re looking for it,” Newman said at the briefing. “We will bring those responsible to justice… Our kids deserve to be safe and enjoy the best days of their school year.”
Newman further stated that his department and the Texas Department of Public Safety have increased officer presence at schools within the county “out of an abundance of caution.”
