William Hair Obituary News: In loving memory of man killed in Lake View drive-by shooting.
35-year-old William Hair was walking down a street in Lakeview with friends on Saturday when a car pulled up and two people got out, opened fire and hit Hair in the chest, police said.
A red Kia Soul pulled up next to William Hair and his companion Alexander Mulford as they were walking to see friends at around two in the morning near the 500 block of West Surf Street. The driver hopped out and brandished a revolver at the two, according to a police complaint.
When Mulford heard gunshots and saw that Hair had been shot in the chest, he quickly raised his hands and turned to flee from the assailant, according to the report.
When paramedics got on the site after the shooter had departed, they discovered Hair laying on the sidewalk with Mulford applying chest compressions to him, according to the report.
Hair was transported to Advocate Illinois Masonic Hospital, where doctors declared him dead, according to the police.
