Today with heavy hearts we say goodbye Dot Beck, better know to everyone as Mamaw Dot. She was 90 years old and passed peacefully surrounded by family this morning.
Mamaw Dot left quite a legacy for our family. She had 5 children (one being our owner, Jane), 10 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren. She worked in the bakery at our store for about 20 years baking all those delicious goodies! Mamaw was famous for her made from scratch biscuits and you never went away hungry if you set down at her table. You couldn’t be around Mamaw Dot for more then 10 minutes before you felt like she was your mamaw too. I was blessed enough to marry into the family and Mamaw was always loving on me and encouraging me as a Christian, a wife, and a mother. She never missed a chance to tell people about her Jesus. And the thought of her praising Jesus face to face rightnow bring a smile to my face. Mamaw would want everyone to know that she didn’t get to Heaven because she was a good person, not because she was a good mama and grandmother, not because she went to church, but because she accepted Jesus as her Savior and she loved Him with every fiber of her of her being! And that is the legacy that she would want everyone to remember her for. She will certainly be missed but we’re overjoyed for her to be in Heaven and reunited with her beloved husband, Willard at the feet of Jesus
