On Tuesday, June 20, 2023, Jody Wilson aka R2-DeckU died tragically and very unexpectedly by suicide.
The Ann Arbor Roller Derby & Lakeshore Roller Derby community are mourning Jody’s unexpected death.

For those fortunate enough to have crossed paths with Jody, whether she officiated your game, worked alongside you as a referee, supported your league, cheered from the sidelines, or had any form of impact on your derby journey, you know the profound influence she had. Jody’s dedication to the sport was evident in her no-nonsense approach to officiating, ensuring fair play and upholding the integrity of the game. However, beyond the track, in the locker room, her vibrant smile and lighthearted jokes created an atmosphere of camaraderie and warmth.
