Nathaniel Laster Obituary News: Massillon man shot dead in front of his home in the 500 block of Fifth Street SW.
Tuesday night, a 26-year-old city resident was tragically shot on the doorstep of his southwest residence.
The Stark County Coroner’s Office has confirmed that Nathaniel Laster was declared dead in the emergency room at Aultman Hospital at 12:18 a.m. on Wednesday.
According to Massillon Lt. Nick Antonides, police responded to a home in the 500 block of Fifth Street SW after receiving a call reporting shooting about 11:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
According to him, police discovered Laster on the front porch bleeding from the chest and started doing CPR until paramedics came. Emergency responders in Massillon took him to Aultman Hospital.
Police are still looking, according to Antonides. According to him, other witnesses claimed to have heard six to eight gunshots. Laster suffered one upper body gunshot wound, according to Antonides, who is still waiting to hear more about other wounds from the coroner.
