Coventry police on Wednesday identified the victims in what they’re now calling a “suspicious” shooting. The incident took place in Mulberry Court soon before three o’clock on Tuesday.
When the police arrived, they reportedly discovered Linda Beckman, 60, and James Beckman, 61.
Linda was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Chief Frederick Heise III, while James was rushed to Kent County Memorial Hospital with critical wounds. Later, he was sent to Rhode Island Hospital, where his condition is critical.
According to Heise, the home’s two family dogs were also discovered dead. At first, police described the incident as “accidental.”
