Muscatine Car Accident: Rural Muscatine County crash involving 9 people sees 3 dead.
The sheriff’s office says that three people died in a car crash in rural Muscatine County on Sunday afternoon.
Around 2:25 p.m., the call came in. The Muscatine County Sheriff’s Office, the Iowa State Patrol, and a few other first responders found the cars in a field northeast of the intersection of Highway 38 and 155th Street.
There was a 2019 Toyota Highlander and a Dodge Ram that were involved. There were two people in the Ram and seven people in the Highlander. As of this writing, the names of those involved have not been made public.
The Iowa State Patrol’s report on the crash says that the Highlander was going east on 155th Street while the Ram was going north on Highway 38. The Ram hit the Highlander because it didn’t stop at the stop sign.
As of Sunday night, three of the people who were hurt have died. The other six people who were hurt were taken to nearby hospitals by either a ground ambulance or a helicopter.
