Timothy Shafer and Donna Bailey Obituary News: Two killed in an officer-involved shooting in Christian County.

Two people who died in an officer-involved shooting in Christian County on Saturday morning were identified as 37-year-old Timothy W. Shafer and 23-year-old Donna M. Bailey.

According to Greene County Sheriff’s Office, Ozark Police tried to pull over a car because they suspected the driver was impaired.

At US 65 and Highway 14, this occurred soon before three in the morning on Saturday. The vehicle continued south on 65 without stopping. The Ozark officer reported the car to the Christian County Sheriff’s Office but did not pursue it at the time.

Deputies from Christian County observed the car in Highlandville just after 3:30 a.m. and attempted to pull it over, but the driver continued to drive away. This time, as the automobile approached the intersection of US 65 and Highway CC, which is the exit close to Lambert’s Cafe and James River Church, the CCSO started pursuing it.

Before a Christian County Deputy was able to use a tactical driving technique to get the suspect to stop, according to the authorities, the driver of the automobile tried to run over a deputy. The car’s male driver and a lady passenger were then visible to the deputies.

At this point, CCSO had been joined by police from Nixa and Ozark in reaction to the incident. Authorities claimed that they ignored orders from officers and deputies, and that the man brandished a firearm at the officers while leaning out of the driver’s side window.

Nixa, Ozark, and Christian County police officers and deputies opened fire on the automobile. The driver and the passenger in the automobile died.
