Dr. Sol Neely Obituary News, Death – Cause of Death: Dr. Sol Neely, Associate Professor in English and Philosophy from the University of Alaska Southeast in Juneau, Alaska and Purdue Alumnus has passed away.

According to an online obituary on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, Sol Neely of Juneau, Alaska, has passed away unexpectedly. However, his cause of death was not disclosed.

Sol was a kind, generous, and committed husband, father, mentor, teacher, and scholar, and a wonderful Cherokee man in every way. He loved his family and his nation fiercely and always made relatives wherever he went.

He received his Ph.D. in 2009 in Philosophy and Literature from the College of Liberal Arts and was the featured speaker for the Purdue Religious Studies Program in the spring 2019. He was an amazing Indigenous scholar as well as a professor and mentor.
