Andrew Speight Obituary News: Beloved San Francisco Bay Area Jazz Saxophonist Reportedly Killed in “tragic” Burlingame Car-Train Collision.

The San Francisco Bay Area and the jazz community mourn the loss of a wonderful human being, and a great player in Andrew Speight.

A train struck a vehicle in Burlingame Thursday afternoon, killing the driver. The incident happened at approximately 1:40 p.m. near the intersection of California Drive and Broadway.

The deceased driver has been unofficially identified as Andrew Speight.

“We are still reeling from the news that Andrew Speight passed away today in Burlinghame CA in a tragic vehicle accident,” Manly Jazz Artistic Director wrote in a Facebook post. “We are devastated – we have lost a wonderful brother and son but the jazz community worldwide has lost a giant of jazz, a force – full of passion for his music and events – Manly Jazz particularly.”
