A 14-year-old boy has passed away after being struck by a car in Punggol in October.
On October 10 at around 11.20 a.m., the BMW struck him as he was crossing the street at a crosswalk on Sumang Walk, sending him flying and landing far away.
Later, the 24-year-old car’s driver was detained for reckless driving that resulted in injury.
The youngster was carried unconscious to the hospital that day, according to an amended statement from the police, but he passed away on Wednesday.
The male motorist is helping the authorities in their inquiries.
