Mason Visman Obituary – Car Accident: Man found dead day after alleged DUI crash in Placerville.
According to CHP – Placerville, On November 11, 2022 at 7:43 PM, Placerville Area CHP officers were dispatched to a call of a crash on US-50 at Mosquito Road, involving a Mercedes-Benz and a Prius. Upon their arrival, they discovered the driver of the Mercedes-Benz (Chambers) had fled the scene. With the assistance of Placerville Police Department, Chambers was apprehended moments later, very close to the original crash scene. CHP Officers determined she was the driver of the Mercedes-Benz at the time of the crash and was under the influence of alcohol. No indication was given to the existence of a passenger in the Mercedes-Benz and the driver was booked into the El Dorado county jail.
On November 12, 2022 at 3:04 PM, Placerville Area CHP officers were dispatched to a call of a possible human body located over the guardrail lying in the bushes, near US-50 and Mosquito Rd. CHP officers responded and located a deceased male. The El Dorado County Coroner’s Office was summoned, and the male was identified as Mason Visman, CHP – Placerville said in a media release.
At the time of this incident, none of the involved parties, or witnesses made any reference or indication there was a possible passenger in the involved vehicle(s). Additionally, at the scene, the investigating officer specifically asked Chambers if she was driving alone, and she indicated she was.
