William O’Leary and Marcus Rogers Car Accident: Victims identified in fatal head-on collision on Route 44 in Winchester.
The two people who died in a head-on collision that left two others injured on Route 44 in Winchester on Tuesday have now been identified.
One of the deceased victims has been identified as 84-year-old William O’Leary of Plymouth.
The second fatality is identified as a 16-year-old boy from New Hartford, who has been unofficially identified as Marcus Rogers.
According to the Winchester Police Department, the fatal collision happened at approximately 7:32 p.m. on Tuesday, January 31, 2023.
According to authorities, preliminary investigation revealed a 2021 Lexus NX300 driven by 23-year-old Glen Ragin Jr. of Torrington, CT and his front seat passenger 18-year-old Emanuell Caban of Waterbury, CT was travelling eastbound on Route 44 when it passed a box truck that was headed in the same direction. In the process, Ragin crossed over into the westbound lane and collided into a vehicle driven by O’Leary, which was a 2022 Chevy Equinox.
Both cars were severely damaged. Investigators will check them for any mechanical flaws. Additionally, additional evidence will be gathered.
Caban was hospitalized at Hartford Hospital for several wounds, including a shattered femur. Ragin’s condition was unknown, but it was assumed that he had only suffered minor wounds.
