Paul Easton Death – Obituary: Radio industry workers are disseminating the tragic news that Paul Easton, a veteran radio programmer who worked for many years, passed away at the age of 69.
It has been said that Paul went away peacefully while he was sleeping a week ago.
After several years of volunteering for hospital radio, Paul started his career at LBC in London in the middle of the 1970s. This was after he had spent a significant amount of time working as a radio volunteer in hospitals.
He worked as a studio operator at LBC, where his responsibilities included the news and phone-in programs, in addition to outside broadcasts.
After that, Paul rose through the ranks at LBC to become the Head of Production, where he oversaw Station Sound.
Melody Radio, Capital Radio, BRMB Radio, Ocean Sound Radio, and Music Choice Europe were just a few of the stations he worked for during the course of his lengthy and eventful radio career.
He has been working as a freelance programming consultant for the past 20 years, with regular employment at JACK in Oxford from the day it launched until he left there last year. Before to that, he served as the Program Director at Flix Radio, which was one of the first stations to broadcast in DAB.
In addition to that, Paul has worked as an Associate Professor at the London College of Communication, where he taught a variety of radio production and journalism classes. He has also been a guest on the television show Fifteen to One.
He was a friend of RadioToday and has been a contributor to RadioToday ever since it was first established. He was a contributor to Radio Magazine, where he wrote a regular column titled “Programming Points.” In addition to maintaining his own blog, on which he discusses topics such as RAJAR and radio programming, he contributed his expertise to a number of internet radio message boards, including Media UK and the mailing list for Hospital Radio.
Paul was not well-known to the people who listened to the radio, but he was well-known and respected in the industry. An authentic radio guy who will be much missed by everyone who had the opportunity to work with him or gain knowledge from him.
