Gordon Pinsent, a Canadian actor who was loved and whose career lasted for more than 60 years, has died. He was 92.
Pinsent was born in Grand Falls, N.L., and has been in more than 150 TV shows and movies, such as Due South, The Red Green Show, Babar and the Adventures of Badou, and The Grand Seduction.
Pinsent, a companion of the Order of Canada and a fellow of the Royal Society of Canada has received the Governor General’s Performing Arts Award, the Earle Grey Award for lifetime achievement in television, and a star on Canada’s Walk of Fame.
He has won every major acting prize in the country, including two best actor Genie awards for his performances in The Shipping News and Away From Her.
