I was in excellent spirits and it was a lovely night. The performance in Pretoria was enjoyable, and I also sang at my friend Somizi’s 50th birthday party in Sun City, but I had to leave because of another engagement. Like I mentioned, I was in great shape, so I chose to drive myself rather than have one of my bodyguards do it like they had been doing all night. I was eager to reach the Vaal and cap the evening off successfully.
On his way to the Vaal at around 11 p.m., he noticed an automobile stopped on the road without any lights. Vusi was supposed to take the stage at about midnight.
A police van was in the left lane while we were in the fast lane. Then, completely out of the blue, this moron decided to make a U-turn on a solid line.
“As I watched everything happen, my life vanished before my eyes. It almost seems as though everything happened slowly. Their van split in half and we just couldn’t avoid hitting them,” he says.
He experienced whiplash, but his four bodyguards managed to flee the scene with only minor wounds including a stiff arm and a swollen eye.
“To be alive is a great blessing for all of us. In the car were two police officers. They might have wished to return to the other parked automobile that we had observed, in my opinion. The male cop was brought to the hospital, but I’m not sure what condition he’s in. The female officer also suffered from whiplash.
