Actor Jonathan Majors was detained on suspicion of assault, harassment, and strangulation on Saturday in New York.
Following a “domestic dispute” with a 30-year-old woman, the star of Creed III and Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania was brought into arrest, according to the police.
The woman was sent to the hospital with minor head and neck injuries, according to a statement from the New York Police Department (NYPD).
They stated, “The victim reported to police that she was assaulted.”
“Without incident, officers took the 33-year-old man into custody.”
On Saturday about 11 a.m., police were called to an apartment in Manhattan.
The NYPD official informed The Associated Press on Saturday night that Majors was no longer in police custody.
Majors’ representative claimed that the man had “done nothing wrong.”
“We anticipate clearing his name and putting this right.”
In the 2019 film The Last Black Man In San Francisco, Majors made his breakthrough.
Along with Da 5 Bloods, The Harder They Fall, and last year’s Devotion, he also starred in Magazine Dreams, a recent Sundance Film Festival entry.
