On Tucson’s east side Tuesday afternoon, a motorcycle driver was killed when her vehicle collided with a truck.
According to a press statement from the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, Alexandra Hegel, 32, was riding a motorbike when she collided with a pickup truck near North Sabino Canyon and North Indian Ruins roads at 3:13 p.m.
Hegel died at the scene. The 79-year-old pickup truck driver did not sustain any injuries.
On Tuesday, the road was stopped for a bit as deputies looked into the collision.
According to the initial findings of the inquiry, the pickup was traveling east from Indian Ruins onto Sabino Canyon Road when the Vehicle was traveling south on Sabino Canyon Road.
In the Tucson region in the past week, there have been two tragic motorcycle accidents.
