SOCIAL MEDIA TRIBUTE
Gutted. Devastated. Shattered. Three words that have been used too frequently in the last few days. It is with heavy hearts, that we share the unexpected passing of our beloved, Jonah Augustine Winn, on April 4, 2023.
Jonah was many things: a son, grandson, brother, nephew, cousin, friend, and the best kind of person you could hope to know. He was passionate, loving, authentic, and wise beyond his short 25 years. While we may never have an earthly understanding of why God called him home so soon, we are resting in the knowledge that Jonah went to bed knowing he was fiercely loved, had a heart full of family memories, and was about to embark on an adventure that he was genuinely thrilled to begin.
It is hard to imagine a world without Jonah’s bear hugs or laugh. He touched so many lives all over the country, and we will not be the same without him. His presence leaves a hole that is deeply felt in the heart and soul. We loved him so much, but I’m sure that our great-grandparents, Nana Jeanne, and his godfather, Job, welcomed him home with open arms.
Many are asking what they can do to help or support. First and foremost, you can pray or send healing vibes to our family. Specifically for Julie, Christian, and Elijah as they will have many hard days ahead of them. In lieu of flowers and if you’re able, we ask that you donate to the Go Fund Me site (link below) to help unburden his parents as final preparations are made. Memorial service information to come.
If you have questions or comments, please reach out to me as his parents need some space to process. If you’d like to share a memory of Jonah, you can post it on his Facebook page for his family to read at a later date. Thank you to all who have loved on us, sent food, and reached out – it means more than you know.
Feel free to drop condolences messages and prayers for the family and friends of the deceased as it will go a very long way at this difficult time of theirs.
