The Louisiana State Police would like to remind all drivers that you should always drive according to how you are feeling. The effects of alcohol, prescription medications, and other drugs on the body can all have a negative impact on one’s ability to drive. These substances can affect visual capacity, change one’s perception of time and space, impair fine motor abilities necessary for driving a car, and slow down reaction times. Drivers are urged to make arrangements in advance and assign a sober driver. Failure to do so may have fatal repercussions.
