Jan Carlo Santana, 31, of Philadelphia, and Tucker Schimelfenig, 23, Christian Schimelfenig, 23, and Michael Comerford has been identified as victim invloved in a fatal crash in Schuylkill Expressway.
Officials have named the four people who died in a crash early Saturday morning on the Schuylkill Expressway (I-76) in Philadelphia.
Troopers said that Jan Carlo Santana, 31, of Philadelphia, Tucker Schimelfenig, 23, Christian Schimelfenig, 23, and Michael Comerford, 24, all of Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania, died in the accident.
We found out that Santana was an Uber driver, and that the other three people who died were his passengers.
Just before 2 a.m., near the City Avenue exit, someone called the police to say that two cars had crashed and people were hurt.
At the scene, the police found that one car had crossed several lanes of traffic and hit another car. The first car lost control and flipped over before stopping on the right shoulder of an exit ramp.
On I-76 West, the second car was hit in the back and pushed forward into a bridge column.
The driver of the first car, a 31-year-old man named Victor Spizzirri, had moderate injuries and was taken to Temple University Hospital.
Police said Spizzirri showed signs of being impaired, so he was arrested for homicide by vehicle while driving drunk and other charges.
