The victim of a deadly motorcycle accident that happened over the weekend in Hamilton Township has been identified by police.
At 9:45 p.m. on April 14, Pennsylvania State Police were called to a motorcycle accident on Strawberry Hill Road, just east of Ann Street.
Alexia Getz, 26, of Kunkletown, who was the driver, was flung from the motorcycle and was declared dead at the scene by the Monroe County Coroner.
The police report states that the motorcyclist failed to navigate a left-hand curve on the road and continued straight into a field. The motorist lost control and came to an abrupt stop in a drainage ditch.
Getz’s companion was injured and was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Pocono by St. Luke’s EMS after leaving the scene.
According to the authorities, driving under the influence was a factor in the collision. Anthony Petroski, the PSP’s public information officer, informed journalists in an email that there were currently no new developments or remarks.
