A gunshot in the Reed Neighborhood claimed the life of a woman.
Officers from the Central Precinct responded to a complaint of a shooting in the 2800 block of Southeast Colt Drive on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at 11:25 p.m. When they arrived, they discovered a dead woman.
It has been determined that April Nicole Newcomb-Cripe, 28, was the victim of the homicide that occurred on April 15th, 2023 in the Reed Neighborhood. Her family has been informed of her passing and has given permission for the public to use the accompanying photo. They are asking for discretion at this time.
According to the Medical Examiner, she was shot dead during a homicide.
Before the police came, the suspect or suspects fled the scene, and no one has been taken into custody.
Southeast Colt Drive is shut down between Southeast 26th Avenue and Southeast 30th Avenue throughout the inquiry.
