Gorakhpur Harishankar Tiwari Death: In Gorakhpur, former Uttar Pradesh minister Harishankar Tiwari passed away on Tuesday evening following a prolonged illness.
At the age of 90, he passed away.
According to Vinay Shankar Tiwari, the son of the deceased, his father was undergoing medical treatment at their residence in the Jatashankar locality due to various health problems, including heart disease.
Barhalganj town was the birthplace of Harishankar Tiwari, who served as a member of the Uttar Pradesh assembly for six consecutive terms from 1985 to 2002. Tiwari represented the Chillupar seat during his tenure.
A founding member of the Loktantrik Congress party has been identified. The individual in question served as a cabinet minister for a period of ten years, spanning from 1997 to 2007. During this time, he held the position under the leadership of Kalyan Singh, Ram Prakash Gupta, Rajnath Singh, Mayawati, and Mulayam Singh Yadav.
Harishankar Tiwari, a political heavyweight, had gained recognition as a leader of Brahmins in the state.
Bhishma Shankar Tiwari, the elder son of the individual in question, has served as a Member of Parliament from the Sant Kabir Nagar constituency. Meanwhile, the individual’s younger son, Vinay Shankar Tiwari, represented Chillupar, the father’s traditional seat, in the previous Uttar Pradesh assembly (2017-2022) as a member of the Bahujan Samaj Party.
