Tragically, the hunt for two boys who have been missing since last weekend has changed.
Garrett Warren, 13, was found dead in the Harlem River on Thursday morning, according to confirmation from his family on Thursday evening.
The body was found, according to the NYPD, approximately 10:15 a.m. Alfa Barrie, 11, and Warren, who were last seen together in Harlem late last week, were being sought by police.
The Warren family was able to identify Garrett’s remains at the medical examiner’s office in Manhattan after police transported Warren’s body from where it was discovered on the Manhattan side of the river to the Harbor Unit on Randalls Island.
Police informed his relatives of the awful news and summoned them to the 32nd Precinct.
Barrie and Warren are reportedly buddies and were seen together on CCTV footage in Harlem on Friday night. According to investigators, Warren’s body exhibited no signs of trauma, and no wrongdoing is now suspected.
