Samantha Anders Obituary News: Dayton, OH teen girl killed in Tuesday morning crash in Wayne Township.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol reports that a teenage girl died as a result of a collision that occurred in Wayne Township on Tuesday.
According to OSHP Lebanon Post, Samantha Anders, 16, of Dayton, was traveling in the front passenger seat of a minivan driven by Anna Irwin, 39.
According to authorities, the minivan was traveling north on Clarksville Road when it ran a stop sign at the intersection with State Route 73.
Around 10:45 a.m., the minivan hit the left rear tire of a Freightliner tractor-trailer as a result, according to OSHP.
Irwin suffered critical injuries and had to be flown to Miami Valley North Hospital while Anders was pronounced dead at the spot. The semi’s driver did not sustain any wounds.
According to OSHP, the crash is still being investigated.
“It is with a heavy heart that we announce that Ascension parishioner, Samantha Anders, passed away this morning from injuries sustained in a car accident. Samantha was a 2020 Ascension School graduate and incoming senior at Archbishop Carroll High School. Her mother, Anna Irwin, is currently in critical condition at Miami Valley Hospital. Tonight, Ascension Church will be open for prayers between 6:00-8:00 PM,” – Ascension Kettering.
