Eric Carmona Obituary News – Motorcycle Accident: Navy veteran killed in fatal Thursday morning crash in Murrieta.
The Murrieta Police Department Dispatch Center received a report of a traffic incident involving a motorcycle rider and a compact car near the junction of Winchester Road and Frontage Road on Thursday, June 1, 2023, at 4:08 a.m.
At 04:13 in the morning, Murrieta Police officers and members of Murrieta Fire & Rescue confirmed the incident and found the male biker, later identified as 30-year-old Eric Carmona, unconscious and suffering from serious injuries. The 19-year-old male driver of the small car suffered only minor wounds. The rider of the motorcycle was taken to a nearby hospital, where emergency room doctors declared him dead despite their best efforts to save him.
Officers discovered the driver of the compact car was traveling east through the controlled intersection of Frontage Road and Winchester Road on a green signal through witness accounts and physical evidence. Carmona entered the same intersection while driving south on Winchester Road and struck the small car at the driver’s side door and front quarter panel. Evidence points to disobeying a traffic signal as the main cause of collisions.
A thorough investigation is being carried out by the Traffic Bureau of the Murrieta Police Department.
