A coroner has learned that a 12-year-old girl and a 17-year-old boy involved in an incident off the coast of Bournemouth beach drowned.
On Wednesday, Sunnah Khan and Joe Abbess perished after experiencing trouble in the water, and an additional eight individuals were hurt. Police are still looking into what took place.
The two were reported to have drowned, with the “suggestion” that they were caught in a riptide, according to an inquest that began on Monday in Bournemouth.
A man in his 40s who was “on the water” at the time of the incident was detained on suspicion of manslaughter and released on Thursday while police investigations are ongoing.
Police claimed to have saved Joe and Sunnah from the water, but they eventually passed away in hospitals.
Sunnah was from Buckinghamshire, whereas Joe was from Southampton.
