Authorities say a mom in Oregon who was given a life sentence for pushing her two children off a bridge passed away on Sunday.
KPTV notes At the Coffee Creek Correctional Facility in Wilsonville, 45-year-old Amanda Stott-Smith was discovered dead in her cell on Sunday morning. She died, although the facility did not specify how.
In 2010, a year after she was charged with taking her 4-year-old son and 7-year-old daughter and hurling them off the Sellwood Bridge in Portland, Stott-Smith was given a life sentence or at least 35 years in jail.
Her daughter lived, but her son passed away.
Stott-Smith allegedly claimed the motive for the deed at the time was retaliation against her ex-husband.
