Motorcycle Accident Modesto, CA: Motorcyclist killed in three-vehicle crash north of North Carpenter Road.
After a motorway collision involving two other vehicles, including a big truck, a motorcyclist died Friday night, according to authorities.
A crash on Highway 99 in the northbound direction north of North Carpenter Road was reported to the California Highway Patrol’s Modesto division at roughly 4:05 p.m. When emergency personnel arrived, they discovered a Yamaha motorcycle and its rider in the No. 2 lane. Just to the north of the collision, there was a Dodge van attached to a tractor-trailer in the center median.
According to preliminary information provided by CHP, the rider was on Highway 99 heading northbound when the Dodge van, which was in the No. 1 lane, crashed with the rider, throwing the driver into the No. 2 lane and directly in front of a 2016 Freightliner.
The 40-year-old biker was run over by the big rig’s trailer, according to CHP. The rider of the motorcycle was taken to Doctors Medical Center, where he eventually passed away from his wounds.
According to CHP, the individual was donning a helmet at the time. Only that he was from Modesto was revealed; his identify was kept secret.
It is unknown if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision.
Following the collision, the large rig and van drivers both went to the center median, according to CHP.
