Alyssa Henley Obituary – Motorcycle Accident: In loving memory of teen killed in Queens motorcycle accident.
Police said a high-speed motorbike crash early on Monday near Whitestone claimed the life of a 17-year-old girl.
Alyssa Henley, a resident of Bellerose, suffered severe head injuries after being catapulted from a motorcycle she was riding in the back of at the Cross Island Parkway and Whitestone Expressway interchange. She was declared dead at the scene on Monday shortly after midnight.
Henley was a passenger, according to the police, on a 2002 Honda motorcycle being operated by a 29-year-old guy who reportedly lost control of the vehicle while traveling at a high rate of speed. The driver attempted to make a left turn onto the southbound Whitestone Expressway while traveling northbound on the Cross Island Parkway, but it appears that he or she had difficulty navigating a sharp bend.
Henley was ultimately ejected from the motorcycle as it collided with a kerb and landed on its right side.
Unknown to his identity, the 29-year-old male was transferred to Flushing’s New York Presbyterian Queens Hospital where his status was described as stable.
