Danny Frawley Car Accident: In loving memory of Danny Frawley Spud AFL game.
Prior to Friday night’s “Spud’s Game” between St. Kilda and Brisbane, Jason Dunstall gave a moving statement in honor of his late great friend Danny Frawley.
In September 2019, one day after turning 56, Frawley was killed in a one-vehicle car accident in Ballarat, shocking the AFL community.
Frawley, a veteran of the Australian Football League, played 240 games for St. Kilda, including nine seasons as captain, before serving as coach of the Richmond Tigers from 2000 to 2004.
He was a much-loved member of the Fox Footy crew as the host of Bounce and was also inducted into the St. Kilda’s Hall of Fame in 2006.
Spud was Frawley’s nick name, and in 2021, ‘Spud’s Game’ was introduced as a fundraising campaign for the Melbourne-based Danny Frawley Centre’s mental health initiatives.
