Maria Garcia Obituary News: 27-year-old Kerman Woman Identified as Victim in Car Crash into Palm Tree West of Fresno
Maria Garcia, 27, of Kerman, was the driver who died on Monday after her car veered off the road and collided with a palm tree west of Fresno, according to the Fresno County Coroner. A Mazda 3 was being driven by Garcia, according to California Highway Patrol spokesperson Mike Salas, at around 5:40 in the morning on Kearney Boulevard, east of Howard Avenue. In an attempt to get back on the road, she swerved to the right shoulder, overcorrected, and slammed into a huge palm tree.
After being transferred to Community Regional Medical Center, Garcia passed away. According to Salas, investigators were unable to immediately determine if drugs or alcohol played a role in the collision.
