Cody Myers Obituary News – Death: Identities released in fatal Redwood Road stabbing in Salt Lake City.
Police have named the culprit and victim in a fatal stabbing that occurred on South Redwood Road in Salt Lake City on Thursday.
Around 5:30 p.m. on June 1, Todd Kingston, 53, allegedly stabbed Cody Myers, 40, with a “large knife” during their altercation. First responders performed life-saving procedures on Myers before transporting him to a nearby hospital, where he unfortunately passed away.
Just before 6 o’clock that evening, authorities caught Kingston, who had fled the scene. Kingston was then lodged in Salt Lake County Metro Jail. He is accused of second-degree criminal obstruction of justice and first-degree felony murder.
Myers and Kingston, who goes by the street moniker “Diablo,” were pals who were in Myers’ car talking, according to a witness who placed the 911 call. The two were reportedly verbally arguing outside the automobile after leaving the area for a neighboring petrol station for roughly fifteen minutes, according to the witness.
