We are saddened to learn of Jerry Priesgen’s passing. “Pink Hat,” as he was sometimes known, was the longtime Director of Competition at Beaver Dam Raceway.
Eric raced under his direction for probably the last eight years or so, starting with karts and then the Legend at BDR. “Unflappable,” is one good way to describe Jerry. As good as any NHL referee, he took a fair amount of guff, but never changed his tone or demeanor with an unhappy racer. His personality was perfect for the job and was exactly what young (and old) racers needed.
