Melachi Brown and Lisa Adrienna Lea Car Accident: Drivers identified in horrific crash that killed six construction workers on Baltimore Beltway.
According to Maryland State Police, an accident on the west side of Interstate 695 early on Wednesday afternoon resulted in the deaths of six construction workers and the hospitalization of a driver. The crash shut down both lanes of the highway for hours and caused heavy traffic.
At at 12:40 p.m. on Wednesday, two vehicles collided on I-695 in Woodlawn north of Security Boulevard in the highway’s left lane, causing one vehicle to flip into a construction zone and strike workers, according to police on Wednesday night.
According to a press release from the police, the flipping vehicle, a gray Acura driven by Lisa Adrienna Lea, 54, of Randallstown, struck the front of a white Volkswagen driven by Melachi Brown, 20, of Windsor Mill, and then flipped across temporary jersey barriers, striking employees. When Lea’s car hit Brown’s car, she was trying to change lanes.
Lea is receiving medical care for her injuries at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore. Brown stopped further up the road but was unharmed.
