NC State University Student Death/Suicide – Eighth student dies since start of 2022-23 school year
In a statement, Chancellor Randy Woodson said that an NC State student killed himself just days after a graduate student died of what police think were natural causes.
“No matter why a friend, roommate, or classmate dies, it hurts a lot and can be hard to deal with,” Woodson wrote.
Last semester, officials at NC State said that four of their students had also killed themselves.
“If you’re having trouble, talk to a friend, teacher, parent, sibling, or someone else you trust,” Woodson said.
On Thursday, February 16, the school will have a Wellness Day for people to rest, get well, and check on each other.
