A 21-year-old sailor stationed at Naval Station Great Lakes has not been seen or heard from since early Saturday morning, and Waukegan police and the U.S. Navy are still looking for him.
Washington Police Seamus Gray was last seen on Saturday at a tavern close to Waukegan Harbor, according to Cmdr. Scott Chastain.
While the U.S. Coast Guard searched Lake Michigan, Waukegan police, North Chicago police and firefighters, the Office of Naval Intelligence, and around 100 Navy personnel spent more than two hours Friday searching the lakefront between Waukegan and Naval Station Great Lakes. Chastain claimed the investigation was abandoned after the search turned up nothing.
The Naval Criminal Investigative Service, and the U.S. Navy will continue investigating.
