John Hornezes Death – Obituary: 6 Injured During Funeral in Pittsburgh: According to an online obituary on Friday, October 28, 2022, John Hornezes has passed away unexpectedly. However, cause of death was not disclosed.

At least six individuals were shot early on Friday in Pittsburgh while attending the funeral of Police Commander Richard Ford, a 20-year-old man who had previously been shot and killed. According to officials, two people have been apprehended in relation to the incident as of late Friday night.

The six victims of the attack, which Ford described as a “targeted shooting,” are all in stable condition.

According to a ShotSpotter tip, five rounds were fired in the vicinity of the Destiny of Faith Church on Friday just after noon, according to Ford. About 15 more bullets were fired before another alarm arrived.

Police were called to the church where John Hornezes, one of the three people killed in a shooting in the city on October 15, was having his burial. According to Ford, the incident on Friday took place outside the church.

According to Ford, four victims self-transported to the hospital. In critical condition, one person was evacuated away from the scene. Sixth victim was taken to the hospital after leaving the scene. Ford stated that while the others were brought to Allegheny General Hospital, one victim was taken to Pittsburgh’s Children’s Hospital. Their ages weren’t made public.

According to authorities, the victim’s critical condition was upgraded to stable later on Friday afternoon.

Although Ford claimed “there’s evidence to believe there was certainly specific people targeted,” police do not yet know the shooting’s purpose.

Ford stated that “several” suspects were involved and that “excellent footage” of the incident was available to the police. The Pittsburgh Public Safety Department said late Friday night that two suspects had been detained in relation to the incident. Their names weren’t made public.

The pastor of the Destiny of Faith Church, Rev. Brenda Gregg, stated during a press conference on Friday afternoon that this has likely been one of the most terrible days of her life in her pastoral ministry, which she has been performing for over 30 years.

A probe is still being conducted.
