Maple Ridge Car Accident: 68-year-old man killed in multi-vehicle crash in downtown Maple Ridge.

A fatal multi-vehicle crash that occurred over the weekend in downtown Maple Ridge has been linked to a 68-year-old man.

The Ridge Meadows RCMP provided an update on the investigation into the seven-vehicle crash on Thursday.

Just before 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, officers were summoned to the intersection of 224 Avenue and Dewdney Trunk Road after learning of a significant auto accident.

According to Sgt. Amanda Harnett in a news release, witness calls stated one person was trapped inside of a vehicle.

“BC Ambulance Service and Maple Ridge Fire Department responded and tended to people who sustained non-life-threatening injuries,” Harnett said.

The BC Coroners’ Service also attended as the 68-year-old man died on scene.
