Laycie Chambers Obituary News: Wapahani High School student dies following Muncie crash.

16-year-old Wapahani High School student, Laycie Chambers died on Thursday, January 19, 2023, two days after she sustained severe injuries in a crash on U.S. 35 southeast of Muncie.

Laycie was one of three occupants of a minivan involved in a collision at U.S. 35 and Delaware County Road 650-S about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Bryan Rausch, superintendent of Liberty-Perry Community Schools, announced Laycie’s tragic death via a social media post on Thursday night.

“Liberty-Perry Community Schools and Wapahani High School are deeply saddened to be informed of the tragic loss of a beloved student, Laycie Chambers,” Rausch wrote. “Laycie was a joyful student and loved by many in the community and especially the school band.”
