Amanda Matuszyk Obituary News – Car Accident: Patient Care Tech killed in two-vehicle crash on I-74 in Peoria.
An accident involving a semi-truck killed Galesburg resident Amanda Matuszyk, 42, on Thursday morning, according to confirmation from Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood on Friday.
When the collision happened on I-74, Matuszyk, a patient care technician at OSF Healthcare Saint Francis Medical Center, was en route to work.
Police records state that Matuszyk was driving eastward in the right lane when she lost control, hit a guardrail, and sent the car into a semi’s path. The semi couldn’t avoid running into the automobile.
Matuszyk sustained numerous blunt-force trauma wounds and most likely passed away immediately. Ongoing toxicology.
