Anthony McRae Obituary News: Arielle Anderson, Brian Fraser and Alexandria Verner identified as deceased victims in tragic MSU shooting.
On Monday night, a gunman walked from his house to Michigan State University and shot eight people, killing three.
Around 8:18 p.m., the event began at Berkey Hall and ended at MSU Union. The suspect, who was later found to be Anthony McRae, could be seen on video walking through the halls.
Hours later, the police found Anthony dead from a gunshot wound he had given himself. With him was a document that explained why he was shooting and what other places he planned to visit.
In his paper, he said that these places made him feel bad and that he deserved to be hurt. He also said that he was always alone and that no one ever liked him or paid attention to him.
Later, Arielle Anderson, Brian Fraser, and Alexandria Verner were named as the three people who had died. Arielle was a sophomore and loved to “help her friends and family, help kids, and serve people.” She wanted to become a surgeon or a doctor for children.
Brian was a sophomore and was in charge of the Phi Delta Theta group. Micaela, Brian’s sister, says that she doesn’t want the name of her brother to be forgotten.
Alexandria was a junior and was known as a “great student, athlete, and leader.”
Anthony pleaded guilty to a weapons charge in 2019 and was put on probation for 18 months.
