Abigail Davis Obituary News – Car Accident Mount Prospect: Victim identified in fatal crash involving an IDOT snow plow truck on Algonquin Road.
At 5:49 a.m. on February 25, 2023, near the intersection of Algonquin Road and Busse Road in Mount Prospect, police, firefighters, and paramedics responded to a report of a crash with injuries but no response from the driver. When police, firefighters, and paramedics got there, they saw that a car had hit the back of an IDOT snow plow truck. A young woman in her 20s was found not breathing in the passenger car. She died at the scene.
At about 5:53 a.m., the crew of Engine 12 asked for a second ambulance to be sent to the scene for the snow plow driver. The driver of the snowplow truck said he wasn’t hurt, but paramedics from the Mount Prospect Fire Department took him to a nearby hospital to be checked out, the Mount Prospect Police Department said.
On Saturday morning, investigators from the Major Case Assistance Team—Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team (MCAT-STAR) were on the scene. Between Dempster Street and Busse Road, the part of Algonquin Road that goes east was closed. Around 1:30 p.m., the road was able to be used again.
The back of a plow truck was hit by a black Ford Edge in the southeast-bound lanes of Algonquin Road, just west of Busse Road, according to information released by the police. Abigail Davis, 20, from Mount Prospect, was named as the driver of the Ford Edge. The only person in the Ford Edge was her.
