Aristides Guerra Obituary News: Man killed in fiery, 2-vehicle crash in Wellington.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office reports that a 71-year-old man was died in a two-vehicle Wellington accident on Thursday after his car caught fire.
At at 1:10 p.m., a collision happened close to the intersection of Wellington Trace and Greenview Shores Boulevard.
According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, an 18-year-old Wellington guy was traveling at a high pace in a 2012 BMW northbound on Greenview Shores Boulevard as he approached the Courtyard Shops at Wellington entrance.
Aristides Guerra, 71, of Wellington, was operating a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee at the same time, which was traveling southbound on Greenview Shores Boulevard in the left lane with plans to turn into Courtyard Shops.
According to the sheriff’s office report, Guerra’s car was brutally impacted by the BMW as it made a left turn, forcing it to flip over.
Guerra was killed after his Jeep caught fire as a result of the collision, trapping him inside.
As they arrived, according to Palm Beach County Fire Rescue authorities, they were able to put out the fire quickly, but it was too late to save Guerra.
According to the sheriff’s office investigation, the BMW’s driver was likewise intoxicated or using narcotics. The BMW’s driver was transported with minor wounds to Wellington Regional Medical Center.
Investigations are ongoing.
