Authorities say a man rammed his car into a crowd at a fundraiser at a Pennsylvania nightclub on Saturday, leaving one person dead and at least 17 others hurt. The suspect later killed his mother in a separate incident, according to authorities.
At around 6:15 on Saturday night, the collision happened in front of the bar intoxicology Department in Berwick, Pennsylvania. A house fire in Nescopeck, Pennsylvania earlier this month claimed the lives of 10 people, including family members of a volunteer firefighter who had rushed at the site. The benefit was conducted in support of the victims. Smoke inhalation claimed the lives of all 10 victims.
Adrian Oswaldo Sura Reyes, 24, was the driver, according to a press statement from the Pennsylvania State Police. He was charged with two counts of criminal homicide early on Sunday.
An automobile “drove through a throng at a community event,” Pennsylvania State Police Troop N communications officer Anthony Petroski said in a press release early Sunday. As a result, Bloomsburg police were called to help Berwick police department.
When troopers and officers arrived, they found a number of casualties as well as one fatality.
