The five people who died in the crash on Tuesday night have been identified as Montraz Webster, 14; Itaeipa Webster, 19; Jamerian Towns, 12; Earl Holmes, 13; and Destiny Liphford, 15.
Tuesday night, a car carrying five people, aged 12 to 19, crashed into a bridge and into a stream in Batesville, Mississippi.
Six passengers in a car traveling west on Curtis Road were all connected, according to the Panola County Sheriff’s Office.
The car left the path and collided with a bridge. The automobile crashed into the bridge and then slid into a creek. Both South Panola junior high and high school were attended by the victims.
“South Panola School District is heartbroken and saddened by the tragic passing of five of our current and former students. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families, friends, faculty, staff, and classmates,” the school district said in a statement release.
