In Mansfield, a man has been charged with three counts of aggravated assault following an alleged assault on his wife and the shooting of his sleeping son and stepdaughter on Tuesday night, according to police.
As per the Mansfield Police Department, officers were sent to 3 Arabian Court just before 11 p.m.
According to police, upon arrival at the scene, it was established that the altercation originated as a domestic dispute. The husband engaged in a verbal altercation with his wife which then escalated into physical assault.
According to the police, the husband retrieved his firearm and proceeded to enter his 13-year-old son’s bedroom, where he shot him while he was asleep. According to reports, the individual proceeded to enter the bedroom of his 21-year-old stepdaughter and proceeded to shoot her.
According to the police, the man’s wife managed to flee the residence and his stepdaughter dialed 911.
As per the police report, the two victims were taken to Medical City Arlington by Mansfield paramedics. According to police, both victims have received medical treatment and are presently in serious but stable condition following surgery.
According to authorities, Thomas Boykin, a 52-year-old man, was apprehended by police without any resistance and was subsequently transported to the Everman Jail. According to official reports, the individual in question has been charged with three counts of aggravated assault/family violence that resulted in serious bodily injury. It remains unclear whether Boykin has secured legal representation to speak on his behalf.
